Day Six
The day started with our typical breakfast at the hotel restaurant, porridge and blineys. I still can't get the waitress to bring the coffee as soon as she gets our order. Ah, the travails of a caffeine addict!
We received permission again to take Katya with us. We came back to the hotel for some quality time. We spent a few minutes on English lessons and then played War, a card game. We were waiting for the gym to be free so we could go down to play.
Once down in the gym, we played volleyball with the beach ball, and Katya had fun with the digital camera. We came back upstairs to cool off a little, and it was quickly time to return to the Shelter.
Katya dozed off in my arms on the way back, it was very sweet. Earlier at the Shelter, the director had asked how things are going. She sees the genuine affection that we all feel for each other, and I think that contributes to her allowing us to take Katya with us. She commented on how very much Katya and Cameron look alike.
Marina arrives by car this evening and we will meet up with her then. With Marina here, we will be able to have longer visits with Katya. We will talk to the director and decide whether to have two visits, or one long visit. It will be fun to take her shopping and to lunch or an early supper.
One downer, though. We paid for our room/suite this morning, and when we returned from taking Katya back, we were informed that we cannot take meals in our room anymore. Something about there being only one waitress. I'm not sure what the real problem is. We will talk to Marina and see if she can get it sorted out. She's very good at that type of thing. ;-)
Many who come here to adopt describe the days as being in the movie "Groundhog Day." One starts feeling as though they are living the same day over and over again. I enjoy being here, there are so many things that are different and delightful. But we will be happy when we, all four, are home in Georgia, and can start our lives together.
